Do you not know that I am a woman? When I think, I must speak.
As You Like It, III.ii

Hi I'm Mackenzie~ Get it? Lady M!

I'm an actor, writer, historian, and complete Shakespeare nerd! I recently graduated with my Master's in Shakespeare Studies, and I can't wait to share my research with you!

Unfortunately, in today's society there is a stigma around Shakespeare and an idea that his works are "dated" and irrelevant. I think this couldn't be further from the truth. There's a reason why Shakespeare's works are considered to be some of the greatest of all time and are still popular today, and it goes beyond the idea that they are "relics" of theatre that should be kept in a glass box on a pedestal. His ability to tell stories is unmatched, and although his characters are kings and warriors, we are able to get a glimpse into their souls through his mastery of language, to be able to see remnants of the human experience, and to see parts of ourselves. Making Shakespeare more accessible is something that I am incredibly passionate about. I'm a firm believer that there is something in these plays for everyone, from Groundlings to Queens!
